Somerset Ekamai Bangkok

Ascott continues its expansion in Thailand with the announcement that it has secured a new contract to manage its first mixed-use development in Thailand, Somerset Ekamai Bangkok, CapitaLand, Ascott’s parent company, explained in a press release. The development becomes the 17th Thai property in Ascott’s portfolio.

Three buildings with 130 studio, one- and two-bedroom serviced residences, 81 units of one- to three-bedroom apartments for corporate lease and a multifunction conference centre with 51 dorm-style single-bedroom units set in a co-working environment will make up the accommodation supply at Somerset Ekamai Bangkok.

The project is situated in one Bangkok’s most happening locations, Ekamai Road, and is close to the popular Thonglor Road. Somerset Ekamai Bangkok is surrounded by several office buildings, an international school, shopping malls and a number of upscale bars, restaurants and cafes, the company noted. In addition to this, the Ekamai neighborhood is also a popular residential area for Thais and expats who work in the city’s central business district as well as Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard. The property will provide easy access to the Ekamai BTS station and the expressway that provides links to these key areas.

Designed to offer comfort and familiarity to guests and their families, Somerset Ekamai Bangkok aims to bring the feeling of home to those staying here. Each apartment is furnished with a number of key amenities and conveniences. The project also incorporates Ascott’s international-class of quality accommodations. Several other facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, gardens, restaurants, children’s playroom and a residents’ lounge will be found on-site as well.

The corporate lease and conference center is scheduled to open sometime in July of this year while the serviced residence will open its doors in August. The completion of Somerset Ekamai Bangkok will give Ascott more than 3,100 apartment units in 17 properties throughout Thailand. Ascott currently oversees projects in three major cities – Bangkok, Sri Racha and Pattaya.
