For the second consecutive month, On Nut BTS station has emerged as the most-searched mass-transit station by users of DDproperty.com, Thailand’s number one property website, and it’s innovative search-by-station feature.
The top ten stations accounted for about half of all searches during February 2015 as Bangkok’s property buyers, renters and sellers maintained their preference to search for what are perceived better deals at the end of the BTS mass-transit line.
The second and third most popular station by searches last month remained the same, Thonglor and Asoke respectively, with the highest-ranking MRT station being Rama 9, acclaimed by many as holding the potential to be Bangkok’s next prominent central business district.
Last year more than 467,000 users of Thailand’s number one property website opted to use the ‘search by station’ feature to search for property to buy, rent and sell, with Rama 9’s MRT station heading the rankings for the 12 months.
DDproperty.com’s Head of Marketing, Napong Panthong, said: “With property prices steadily increasing it has not come as a total surprise that On Nut has once again claimed top spot in the monthly rankings. Prices in that part of Bangkok, although rising, offer buyers more space than if they were to buy closer to the centre.”
He added that the ‘search by station’ function has been extremely well-received by users of the website, who are able to define the distance they wish to search for property from their chosen station.
Data from property searches during February using the ‘search by station’ function also revealed that stations on the BTS sky train Sukhumvit Line were far more popular than those on the Silom Line, with none of the Silom stations making the top ten.
Both Saphan Kwai and Phra Khanong BTS stations increased their place in the rankings by two slots.
Napong added: “We will continue to innovate and provide our users with many more features to help them make better and more-informed property decisions.”
