His Majesty the King of Thailand on Wednesday gave a Royal Command to revoke martial law that has been in force throughout Thailand since May 2014.
The announcement on the revocation of martial law made on all Thai television channels on Wednesday night, saying the situation presented no reasons for martial law invoked by the army on 20 May and by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) on 22 May last year.
Martial law in Thailand has now been replaced by Section 44 of the interim charter.
