On Nut retained its place as the most-searched mass-transit station for a third consecutive month by users of DDproperty.com, Thailand’s number one property website.

The unique ‘search-by-station’ feature allows users to search for their next property to buy, sell or rent in Bangkok based on the distance from their preferred mass-transit station.

Searches for property close to Asoke BTS station moved up one place from last month to occupy second position, while those looking around Ari BTS station also increased and moved one place higher in the ranking from February’s positions.

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises was a decline in searches for property in the trendy Thonglor district, which saw the area drop from the second most popular in February to be ranked fifth last month.

On Nut’s continued popularity is likely down to the ease and speed of commuting to other parts of the city, its relative value for money when compared with stations just a few stops closer to the centre of the city, along with a growing number of developments.

Sutthisan MRT, making its first appearance in the top ten, was the seventh most-searched station, with Ladprao MRT also made into the top ten for the first time at ninth place.

Data from property searches on DDproperty.com using the ‘search-by-station’ feature during March 2015 showed that nearly three out of every four searches (71 percent) were made looking for properties close to BTS stations, with MRT station searches accounted for 27 percent and Airport Link stations just 2 percent.

The top-ten ranked stations accounted for more than 55 percent of all searches using the “search by station’ feature during March 2015. This was lower than last month, and an indication that property buyers, sellers and renters are looking at more options in different parts of the city for their next property deal.

During 2014 close to half a million users of DDproperty.com opted to use the ‘search by station’ feature to search for property to buy, rent and sell, with Rama 9’s MRT station heading the rankings for the 12 month period.
