CBRE closed the acquisition of Johnson Controls, Inc.’s Global Workplace Solutions business, the company recently announced in a press release. Global Workplace Solutions provides enterprise facilities management solutions for corporations across the world as well as other large occupiers of commercial real estate. Global Workplace Solutions is seen as a leader in the field and totaled revenue of more than USD3 billion during 2014.
“This is a very exciting step for CBRE,” said Bob Sulentic, president and chief executive officer of Global Workplace Solutions, said. “It advances our strategy of delivering the highest quality, globally integrated services to major occupiers and builds our relationships with many of the world’s most prominent corporations. We are helping our clients to enhance their competitive position by aligning every aspect of how they lease, own, use and operate real estate.”
CBRE has recorded long-term, double-digit revenue growth for its occupier outsourcing business line due in part to the advantages of outsourcing real estate services coupled with the high quality of the company’s offerings.
Technical engineering, supply chain management, critical facilities and other capabilities are just a few of the areas Global Workplace Solutions specializes in. It is believed the company can add to CBRE’s already-robust service offering for occupiers.
Global Workplace Solutions is the largest provider of facilities management services outside the United States, while CBRE’s facilities management services are focused on the Americas. The two companies will offer combined service to provide clients with materially greater scale advantages worldwide.
Global Workplace Solutions will merge with CBRE’s occupier outsourcing business line, and the new combined business has decided to go with the Global Workplace Solutions name. The new company will serve an impressive list of large occupiers across a wide range of industries, particularly financial services, healthcare, industrial/manufacturing, life sciences, technology and telecommunications. CBRE is planning to offer these clients a full range of its occupier services, including property leasing and sales transactions, project management and construction services, technical engineering, consulting, and more.
