IMPACT is planning to build a number of megaprojects and has set aside THB3.5 billion for construction of these, IMPACT Exhibition Management announced in a press release. The company wants to enhance the facilities and amenities found at the current site which include the massive exhibition hall to accommodate and fulfill the lifestyle needs of visitors and residents of Muang Thong Thani.
“In the near future, we are going to see some of the biggest investments in mega projects in IMPACT’s history including a THB200 million theme park sitting along the shore of the lake, specially designed to be a gathering point for the family to share memorable moments together,” Paul Kanjanapas, managing director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd, stated. “Business travelers bringing children on board attending a conference at our venue can leave their kids at the theme park while they are in a meeting. With our one-stop entertainment complex coupled with other state-of-the art facilities and amenities nearby the exhibition center, the family would end up staying longer and that is exactly what we are looking for.”
IMPACT will partner with Sanderson Group, an Australian thematic design and construction company, to build the theme park which is expected to complete by late 2017 or early 2018, according to the company. Sanderson Group has experience with similar projects including Disney Seas in Tokyo and Universal Studios Singapore.
Marina, a facility offering services to yachtsmen looking to lease out a space for mooring a boat when it is not in use, was another megaproject unveiled by IMPACT. The development will include a number of other amenities including a movie theater, restaurants, shops and stores. The Eastin Lakeside Hotel will also be rebranded into a 5-star luxury hotel as part of the Marina project.
The 587-room Ibis Hotel is scheduled to open before the end of 2016 while other projects like the five-story retail building and upgrades to the IMPACT Sports Complex should begin soon as well as IMPACT looks to continue the development of the surrounding areas.
