AP revealed that it is partnering with Thai Samsung Electronics, the local unit of the South Korean smartphone maker, to launch “AP Intelligent Living”. The partnership will see the developer advance its digital living aspirations while allowing residents to enjoy all smart homes have to offer.
“The ultimate in living innovation that integrates Samsung’s advanced technology with smart devices on the Internet of Things (IoT) platform, AP Intelligent Living will ensure homeowners the highest level of convenience and safety,” said Anuphong Assavabhokhin, AP Thailand’s chief executive.
He added that AP sought a partner whose expertise was in urban living technology since it wants to set up an intelligent home system in all areas of the house, not just specific rooms. AP’s Baan Klang Muang CLASSE will serve as the partnership’s pilot project, the newspaper reported.
“AP distinguishes itself with its innovative approach to urban living,”Anuphong revealed. “Our partnership with Samsung is a further step in our industry development based on AP’s Digital Community vision, which calls for the integration of all advances in technology, be it the IoT platform or digital innovations to improve the living quality of AP customers.”
AP will be the first company in Thailand’s real estate industry to integrate the Alexa voice service, which will allow voice-enabled control of home appliances and jointly process data and intra-communication. Alexa’s current claim to fame is as the voice of Amazon’s Echo device. Additionally, the new intelligent home system will anticipate homeowner’s needs and respond accordingly.
“The home should be able to take care of every family member in terms of convenience and safety,” said Boonlerd Viboonkiat, vice president of enterprise business for appliances and IT at Thai Samsung Electronics told media. “Samsung has integrated the IoT platform for the interconnected wireless functioning of different appliances,” he said. “By having all appliances permanently connected, communication between home appliances and devices will make it possible to meet the lifestyle needs of residents.”
