A second hotel in Phuket will be operated by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts as the hotelier was appointed to manage Swissôtel Phuket Patong Beach Resort. The dusitD2 Phuket Resort will be rebranded and Swissôtel is set to begin operations in June. This will become the brand’s fourth property in Thailand with the first, Swissôtel Phuket Kamala Beach Resort, opening in 2012.
“This is a wonderful new addition for the Swissôtel portfolio and we are very excited to be expanding our presence in Phuket,” Lilian Roten, vice president, Swissôtel Brand said in a press release. “Through its contemporary design and stimulating surroundings, the hotel will serve as an ideal base for guests to explore the Patong area and delight in experiences that are truly authentic to Phuket.”
The hotel will have a total of 390 guestrooms when it opens later this year as well as four restaurants and bars, a swimming pool and a health club. There will also be three meeting rooms on-site plus a new rooftop ballroom that is currently under construction. More meeting and event space is currently being developed and should be completed in September.
The hotel is a 45-minute drive from Phuket International Airport and is situated in the Patong area of Phuket. Swissôtel Phuket Patong Beach Resort is only a short walk from Patong beach and guests can reach the famed Bangla Road in 15-minutes on foot.
“We are delighted to deepen our relationship with Swissôtel,” Gary Murray, CEO at Destination Resorts proclaimed. “The popularity of Phuket as an exciting destination continues to grow and our Phuket properties are ideally located for visitors to the region. Swissôtel gives us the superb, professional, efficient management style that creates a consistently excellent experience for our guests.”
