The China Property Awards are back and will take place on 1st November at JW Marriott Hong Kong. This year will feature the inaugural China Property Congress as well which will be held prior to the Awards ceremony. The Congress will feature top regional experts who will talk about the investment opportunities and Chinese interests in the ASEAN region.

This year marks the third year of the China Property Awards. The event highlights the best developers and developments in the region. Projects in some of China’s largest markets including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen are eligible for this year’s awards.

There will be Best Residential and Best Commercial Developments awards handed out for each city along with recognition for the Best Green Development. In addition to Chinese cities, Hong Kong and Macau projects will also be honored. Categories for these markets include Best Ultra Luxury Condo, Best Luxury Condo, Best Housing Development, Best Retail Development and Best Office Development.

“The major advantage of developers in China is their delivery of large developments in short time frames,” Trevor Vivian, global director of design firm Benoy and chairman of the judging panel, said in a press release. “They have been quick learners and the quality of work has improved greatly, especially in the first-tier cities.”

Last year’s China Property Awards saw 500 high-profile guests in attendance and highlighted just how strong the country’s property sector is. There have been some struggles recently with the slowing Chinese economy, the ongoing cooling measures in Hong Kong and a significant decline in property values in Macau all causing issues. However, despite all this, China continues to churn out innovative developments.

Nominations for the China Property Awards 2016 are currently being accepted with this period closing on 2nd September. Finalists will be announced during the last week of October with the winners being revealed at the gala dinner on 1st November.
