The 11th annual Thailand Property Awards 2016 will live long in the memory of those from MQDC Magnolia Quality Development Corporation as they collected a total of eight awards including the year’s highest honor, Best Developer.
More than 600 guests including leading figures such as VIP guest and speaker Khun Suwat Liptapanlop, former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, and Navamindradhiraj University president Dr Bhichit Rattakul PhD, former Governor of Bangkok, turned up for the biggest and longest-running annual real estate event.
MQDC’s mega-developments along the Chao Phraya River won a number of awards this year, including Best Ultra Luxury Condo Development (Bangkok) and Best Condo Development (Thailand) award for The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, and Best Luxury Condo Development (Bangkok) for Magnolias Waterfront Residences at ICONSIAM.
Dr Manop Bongsadadt, renowned professor of architecture at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University and member of the judging panel, stated that MQDC’s riverfront ventures “will forever change waterfront living in the capital.”
Other projects along the Chao Phraya River also received awards as this location has become one of Bangkok’s top luxury destinations. Menam Residences received the Best High-Rise High End Condo Development (Bangkok) trophy, while Avani Riverside Bangkok Hotel by Minor Hotels took home three awards for design and one for Best Hotel Development.
PACE Development’s MahaSamutr, which features the largest man-made crystalline lagoon in Thailand, scooped up honors for Best Residential Architectural Design, Best Luxury Villa Development (Hua Hin) and Best Villa Development (Thailand).
Suphin Mechuchep, managing director at Jones Lang LaSalle (Thailand) and chairperson of the judging panel, explained that the 2016 winners – whether land-based or located near a body of water – received the Judges’ approval because they understood what the market expects from quality real estate.
The Thailand Property Awards welcomed a total of eight new categories this year. Among the new awards was a Special Recognition in Sustainable Development, which was presented to MQDC who also picked up the award for Best Green Development thanks to its Whizdom Avenue Ratchada – Ladprao.
