Chatuchak Market is one of Bangkok’s most popular stops for those people visiting Bangkok on holiday, but anyone wanting to stay near the iconic shopping area does not have many options. That will change in the future as plans were revealed for the Best Western Chatuchak that will be one of the area’s few internationally-branded hotels.
The new property is scheduled to be finished in 2020 and will be built close to the Kampang Phet MRT station. The mid-sized hotel will have 168 rooms equipped with modern amenities. Best Western Chatuchak is also near the Mo Chit BTS station and Bangkok’s elevated highway network. The completion of future infrastructure projects will also connect the area to Don Mueang International Airport in the future.
“Chatuchak Market has long been one of Thailand’s most popular visitor attractions and a thriving retail hub for locals and tourists alike. Until now however, the thousands of visitors who flock to Chatuchak every weekend had no reputed local place to stay. Perfectly located, modern, stylish and environmentally-friendly, Best Western Chatuchak will provide an ideal base for business travellers, shopaholics or those seeking to discover a new side of Bangkok,” says Olivier Berrivin, Best Western’s Managing Director of International Operations – Asia, in a press release.
Best Western currently has 4 hotels in Bangkok and others located in Thailand’s tourist destinations, but the company has announced plans for a robust expansion in the country. The company has 2 high-end hotels in the Thai capital, Best Western Premier Montien Riverside Hotel and Best Western Premier Montien Bangkok, along with 2 other mid-range properties.
The company is currently developing several Vīb hotels in Bangkok that will open in the coming years. Best Western is also focusing heavily on Pattaya where it will launch its BW Premier Collection, a more upscale brand of hotel.
