More and more tourists are heading to Phuket and the Amari Phuket, which recently completed a 3-year renovation strategy, has become a popular resort on the island. As part of the THB 550 million renovation, a number of suites were built on a nearby cliff and sold to real estate investors, reports local media.
These rooms offer views of Patong Bay and were bought by individual investors from India, Eastern Europe and China among other places. The suites at the Amari Phuket are on a cliff overlooking Patong and were sold from THB 9 million to THB 25 million. Each unit has a lease of 30 years and a 15-year service contract with the hotel.
Investors who bought the suites were guaranteed a 6 per cent return on investment during the first 3 years of ownership. Other incentives include 60 days each year buyers can stay at their unit.
“We are running ahead of the guaranteed return to investment. Moreover, Amari is among the top three best-performing hotels on the island,” says Amari Phuket General Manager Pierre-Andre Pelletier to The Nation.
The newly renovated property now has a total of 423 rooms and is able to offer 6-star service. The Amari Phuket has been voted “Best Beach Hotel” by TTG travel magazine in the past 2 years. In addition to being popular with individual tourists, the resort also hosts weddings for international visitors and events for companies like Ferrari.
At the moment, the Amari Phuket operates at 90 per cent occupancy, according to The Nation. While the hotel only has limited beach access, there are a number of facilities for guests enjoy at the property. In addition to this, the location near Patong makes it popular with guests who enjoy the area’s sights and sounds.
