Even as AP slows the number of new condos it launches in Thailand because of the unfavourable market conditions, the company has pulled out all the stops for its latest project. Vittorio in the Phrom Phong neighbourhood is a luxury condo that has several Italian architectural features. It is also the 1st development in Thailand to use Italian Palissandro Bluette marble, reports local media.
The name Vittorio comes from the Florentine art and architecture that inspired the project. Several buildings and locations in Italy that serve as the project’s inspiration are named after Victor Emmanuel II, whose full name is Vittorio Emanuele Maria Alberto Eugenio Ferdinando Tommaso, the Italian ruler who successfully united the various states of Italy into a single country.
The 28-storey project is located on Sukhumvit Soi 39. There are only 88 units at Vittorio with each floor limited to 4 condos to give residents privacy. There is direct lift access to each residential unit along with isolating living quarters which are separate from the housing area.
Vittorio took 5 years to complete and unit prices start at THB 35 million and go up from there. AP is targeting clients with high purchasing power who want a secondary residence in the inner city area that has luxurious features.
The rare Palissandro Bluette marble used in the project comes from the northern Italy and is known for its quality. Each block of marble from a quarry was selected for Vittorio by hand to ensure its quality. Several other facilities at the development, such as the swimming pool, were built with Italian Carrara marble. It is the same stone used in the construction of 2 local Bangkok landmarks; the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and the assembly hall of Wat Benchamabophit.
“The layout and concept of the Vittorio are based on the architecture of the Uffizi Gallery museum in Florence and Florentine noblemen’s lifestyle in former times,” says Sappasit Foongfaungchaveng, Head of Corporate Marketing for AP, to the Bangkok Post.
