Thai Developers Embrace Proptech

“Real estate remains only one of a limited number of industries where technology is not heavily involved services. At the moment, a majority of proptech focuses on making the transaction process easier. However, it is also important to consider how proptech, enhances user experiences when performing basic functions at home and for building management,” according to analysis from CBRE Research and Consulting.

A few Thai developers, including Ananda Development, AP Thailand, and SC Asset, have begun to embrace proptech and each have taken different paths to incorporate this into their projects, reports the Bangkok Post.

Ananda launched Ananda Urban Tech which is designed to support and foster proptech by investing funds in real estate focused start-ups. The company hopes the program is able to fund start-ups who can create technology that has a positive impact on the urban lifestyle.

The 1st example of this was an artificial-intelligence robot that monitors the elderly with unstable behavioural tendencies. The proptech is able to look after and record a person’s movements and let a caretaker know if there is an emergency.

AP has teamed with Samsung Electronics for their proptech endeavour. The 2 companies launched AP Intelligent Living for residents of Bang Klang Muang Classe and Rhythm Sathorn residential projects. Among the innovations is Alexa voice-command technology. Residents are able to control home appliances at any time via speech or by using the AP Intelligent Living mobile application.

SC Asset Corporation has created “SC Able” as it looks to enter proptech as well. Its major investment came in the Fixzy application that will allow home owners to easily hire repairmen or home technicians.
