The second edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, which was held at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok on 22 November 2019, recognised industry excellence across the Asia Pacific.
This black-tie gala event received around 150 nominees hoping to secure accolades across different regional categories.
One of the most notable awards was the 2019 PropertyGuru Icon Award. This was secured by CapitaLand Chen Lian Pang affirming his 30 years of experience, which more recently promotes and grows CapitaLand in Vietnam. On receiving this highly coveted award, Pang commented,
“Being conferred the PropertyGuru Icon Award is a testament to the CapitaLand team for continuous contribution to Vietnam’s urbanisation with a 25-year track record of award-winning developments, community-building and corporate social responsibility in Vietnam.”
Sri Lanka was awarded several accolades from luxury condominiums, lofty buildings, and innovative new property solutions illustrating the maturity of this small island’s property market. Prime Group shone out as Sri Lanka’s leading developer securing four awards including the best developer.
The panel commented,
“Prime Group embodies excellence and dedication in their craft, consistently building impeccable luxe residences aimed at serving all walks of life, with each project flawlessly exuding value, security, comfort, and a sense of community. Their passion for the environment is deeply rooted in their belief that every small act count, implementing eco-friendly materials and processes for each project, and encouraging residents to live a greener lifestyle.”
Singapore’s property market is world-famous as affirmed by the seven awards this tiny island state took away. UOL Group Limited proudly received Best Developer in Asia. Recognising the strength of the award, Liam Wee Sin, Group Chief Executive commented,
“It is a delight as well as a privilege to be participating in this competition. We’re very glad not just for ourselves, but we’re very glad for each and every participant because each one of us took home not just an award; each one of us took home an idea of how the industry has been evolving over the years. I think PropertyGuru has been instrumental in uplifting the standard of design in each and every country and in Asia.”
Other triumphs looked at the Australia market where UEM Sunrise flourished in the design and development categories. This included its scheme Aurora Melbourne Central, which is one of the country’s tallest buildings.
Additional countries to take home a prize included The Philippines who secured four, Vietnam with three, Thailand with one, leaving Cambodia, Myanmar, and Malaysia taking home one regional title each.
