The Street Ratchada, a lifestyle mall with several 24-hour stores, is set to open its doors on 2nd December. Developer TCC Assets is hoping the new project becomes the premier hangout venue for people who live in nearby areas.
The project is situated on a 16-rai plot of land where Robinson Department Store’s Ratchadaphisek branch formerly stood. It cost TCC Assets a total of THB2.3 billion to complete The Street.
This will be the biggest open space in Ratchada, roughly 4,000 sqm., at the front of the mall and the developer is hoping to host various events and activities here. Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, chief executive of TCC Assets (Thailand) added that there will be a beer garden in the frontage of The Street that will open at the same time as the rest of the project.
The development will be five-stories tall and have an underground floor as well. Some of the outlets already announced for The Street include Foodland Supermarket, a 7-Eleven and a Thailand Post service store. All three will be open 24-hours. Bounce Free-Jumping Revolution, a giant indoor trampoline playground from Australia, will open on the project’s top level and be the first of its kind in Thailand.
Pongsak Nantawannakul, The Street’s managing director of retail development said that the development has embraced the concept of “SIP. WALK. TALK. SHARE” throughout its development. The company is hoping to reach a new-generation of consumers who embrace a lifestyle that is not limited by time.
According to the company, there are about 600,000 people currently residing in the districts within a five-kilometer radius of The Street. It is estimated that 100,000 people live in condominium units in the Ratchadaphisek area and the area also boasts nearly 52,000 hotel rooms.
Panote said that The Street is part of the company’s policy to focus on developing multi-use projects and the company is already planning other projects on Rama IV road and in other areas.
