Thailand’s ruling National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has proposed a change to the country’s city planning law.
Khunying Songsuda Yodmanee, Chairperson of the NLA’s committee on town planning and land utilisation, has met with Interior Minister Gen. Anupong Paochinda to discuss opinions on Thailand’s city plan and utilisation of land.
Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning Monton Sudprasert said the amendment of the Town Planning Act was reviewed by the Council of State and will shortly be presented for the Cabinet consideration.
He added that the NLA’s committee on town planning and land utilisation made some suggestions to the law amendment, which involve a stricter control of future government policy implementations, as well as the appointment of an inspector to check on all projects and the imposition of more penalties for those who violate the law.
