With more people reading the English news output from DDproperty.com, Thailand’s number one property website, a wide variety of topics were grabbing the attention of our readers last month.
Year-on-year the English news pages have witness an astonishing increase of close to 400 percent, establishing the website as a must-read source of news and views for anyone remotely connected to the property and real estate industry in Thailand, and beyond.

Last month’s most-read story on the English pages of DDproperty.com looked at how the quality of life had declined in Bangkok, according to latest research from Mercer that looks at factors, including property, that impact the lives of expats around the world. Bangkok’s position in the annual survey dropped two places in the space of 12 months, from 115th globally to 117th. This story also attracted the attention of Facebook fans of DDproperty.com, gathering 691 ‘likes’ to date.
Attracted the second-most number of page views was a column written by Kert Stavorn, a partner with Siam Legal International, that focused on nine mistakes than any buyer can make when purchasing property in Thailand. The informative article also attracted more than 550 ‘likes’ on Facebook, underlining how good information can save property buyers and investors’ time, money and possible heartache.

Attracting the third-most eyeballs last month was news from Knight Frank’s comprehensive Wealth Report that revealed how prime residential property prices in Bangkok have increased 80 percent in five years, and was eclipsed only by the Indonesian capital of Jakarta in the rate of growth. To date, more than 630 of DDproperty’s Facebook fans have ‘liked’ this story.
These three stories represented a tiny proportion of the more than 150 stories published each month in English and Thai by DDproperty.com.
