Metropolis, which has billed itself as the most luxurious workplace in Bangkok, continues its launch. The new office building is scheduled to be completed in November 2015, and Tenants will start moving in the 21-storey office building before the end of the year, according to FICO Corporation, the building’s developer.
Metropolis is strategically located next to the Phrom Phong BTS and is adjacent to Sukhumvit Soi 39, in the heart of Bangkok’s commercial district. The building will be near the EM District, Bangkok’s newest luxury shopping area, making it an ideal location for businesses to be situated.
There was more good news for Metropolis as the building received Highly Commended Office Architecture from respected Asia Pacific Property Awards 2015. The office building’s unique architecture is highlighted by a combination of classic and modern architecture that isn’t found at other office buildings in Thailand.
The lower part of the building, which features a retail area, takes its inspiration from traditional European buildings. The façade is adorned with copper brown cladding and diamond cut shape; which was made special for this project and will only be found at the Metropolis. The feature will make the building appear different colors at different times of day.
The front of Metropolis includes a terrace and a noticeable arc that will add to the nearby Sukhumvit road landscape. The office building is designed to look modern and was inspired by the shape of an iceberg. Each floor will vary in degrees to create a twist that allows it to be parallel to the Sukhumvit road. The building will also feature a curtain wall and will be column-free in order to allow for panoramic views.
Krit Srichawlal CEO of FICO Corporation, said in a press release, “The Metropolis has received interest from leading companies and retail companies in Thailand and oversea who have visited the project. It already has occupancy rate of over 35 percent after the project opened to reservations.”
