Famed singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will reduce the asking price of her mansion in Southern California by close to 15 percent to USD14.5 million, according The Wall Street Journal who spoke to people with knowledge of the listing. The massive estate comes with a dance studio/gym, a recording studio and a 20-seat movie theatre.
The WSJ reported that Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland is now listing the he home that was first put up for sale around the beginning of the year. Lopez took the house off the market in late July after finding no buyers for the original USD17 million asking price she wanted for the property. Matthew Gaskill and Alisa Peterson of Sotheby’s International Realty held the initial listing, but the home wasn’t put on the multiple-listing service.
Lopez paid USD8.2 million for the estate back in 2010, according to public records. The world famous diva then remodeled the mansion to fit her needs, according to sources who spoke with The WSJ. The property is situated nearly 30 miles outside of Los Angeles in the small community of Hidden Hills, a favorite with Hollywood stars.
The mansion boasts nine-bedrooms and measures approximately 17,000 sq. feet. There is a dining room with seating for 12 guests and a master suite with a private terrace. A massive entertainment wing at the property hosts the recording studio, movie theatre and gym as well as a dressing room, full-service bar and guest suite. A swimming pool and spa can be found on the grounds of the home too.
Lopez, or JLo as fans know her as, had success as singer in the late 1990s and early 2000s while also engaging in a series of high profile relationships. She is currently a judge on the hit TV show American Idol and is slated to appear in an upcoming TV series in the US.
