Sansiri has set its sights on becoming the real estate company in Thailand that foreign customers trust the most after earning THB1.5 billion from international buyers within the first five months of 2016. This represents a growth 45 percent when compared to the THB800 million the developer made from this segment during the same period of last year.
“Citizens of Hong Kong were our biggest customers with THB600 million in sales in the past five months. Second are the Chinese who bought condominium units worth THB350 million while customers from Western countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the United States, etc, altogether bought into projects worth THB200 million,” Srettha Thavisin, Sansiri’s president said in a press release. “The main objective for the purchases as cited by Hong Kong and Chinese customers was for investment, with Bangkok and resort areas being the main targets for their attractive returns on investment. Meanwhile, Western buyers look more towards owning vacation homes that can be rented out for profit while not occupied.”
The Mori Haus project in the T77 development on Sukhumvit 77 in On Nut was the most popular development with foreign buyers. It earned an impressive THB700 million during Sansiri’s “Presales to Foreign Customers Day” which accounted for 95 percent of allowable sales to foreign buyers. “This is because the T77 project is the development that both Thais and foreigners have shown keen interest in due to its ideal location and proximity to several convenient facilities such as an international school, the community mall, expressway entrance and exit,” Srettha stated.
One of the main reasons why buyers from abroad are looking to purchase units at Sansiri developments is the company’s strong brand image. Another reason is the fact that that projects constructed by Sansiri tend to fulfill all the needs of customers.
Foreign buyers have also looked to invest in Sansiri’s holiday homes while the developer’s after-sales services were also rated highly by buyers. The company is hoping to launch seven new projects between now and the end of the year with Sansiri setting a foreigner sales target of THB5 billion.
