[Special Advertising Feature] Sustainable technologies and superb tropical design combine on Thailand’s popular island of Phuket, with Riverside by E Land Development.
This uber-chic, energy-efficient private-pool villa project is perfectly positioned in the quiet, sought-after city-centre area of Cherngtalay.
Just 14 kilometres from the airport, the development is close to the west coast beaches of Surin and Bangtao along Millionaire Mile, a renowned coastal stretch of luxurious real estate beauties.
The developer has a reputation for projects in Asia Pacific, as well as Europe, with a focus on lifestyle properties and raising energy standards. Excellence in concept and design-led to two highly commended achievements at the 14th annual PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards last August 2019 in the Best Housing Development (Phuket) and Best Luxury Housing Architectural Design (Resort) categories.
Collaborators on the unique residences include a team from Phuket-based Design by Design, providing architectural capabilities. The interior design is directed by the creative talents of locally based M2 Plus, adding a synthesis of artistic understanding through furnishings, artwork, and accessories to create lifestyle-enhancing rooms.
Meanwhile, Tropical Landscaping International (TLI), a leading global landscaper with an office on the island, adds creativity to the outdoor spaces.
Set against a breath-taking mountain backdrop, the project’s 51 spaciously appointed villas comprise of 27 two-bedroom residences, with 20 three-bedroom villas, as well as four properties with four bedrooms.
A unique design element is the industrial edge of contemporary homes, which provide an attractive contrast to the green surroundings. This includes staircases in each villa that extend over the swimming pool, as well as eye-catching wooden and steel bridges that cross creeks and are driven over to reach the individual villa, at the same time absorbing heat.
For this year, the modern influence of green tech integration at the heart of the build really stood out as praiseworthy for the judges.
“Rather than simply paying lip service to environmental concerns, Riverside by E Land Development brings state-of-the-art renewable energy to the residential experience in Phuket, with solar panels installed at each villa, a noteworthy dehumidifying system, and central water heating pumps; saving energy and minimising residents’ carbon footprints.”
Each villa’s energy system links up to form a smart grid too, which means energy is shared; a unique idea within the country’s residential property market. Gas is used for kitchen appliances, while the dehumidifier means that properties can be left unoccupied without rooms getting musty, which appeals to the target holiday home market.
Open plan living spaces, with an uncluttered, functional style, let in natural sunlight and connect with the poolside terrace and garden greenery through sliding glass doors.
This sense of connection with the outdoors continues up to the second storey, with a sun deck layout that creates a double-height space over the lounge and dining area; creating the impression of loft-style living with a cool design edge.
While the overall impression of the villa enclave is one of peace, privacy, and tranquillity, the location is close to a myriad of lifestyle possibilities. Just over a couple of kilometres away is Blue Tree, a spectacular hub of entertainment, dining, and activities, as well as a lagoon, with Riverside residents gifted a lifetime membership to the water park.
