Radisson Blu Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach

Radisson Blu Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach is going to stop operating on April 1st and will be rebranded into a Pullman-branded property, Travel Daily Asia reported. This move by AccorHotels sees the company continuing its plan to increase its footprint in Southeast Asia by taking over the upscale Phuket resort.

The property will be known as the Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort and will begin operations sometime in April of this year, according to Travel Daily Asia. This will make it the third Pullman hotel in southern Thailand joining the Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach and Pullman Khao Lak Katiliya Resort & Villas. Pullman has been increasing its presence in the region recently as it rebranded the Prince Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and Grand Millennium Hotel in Bangkok during the past few months before announcing this most recent acquisition.

“We are thrilled to add Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort to our network of upscale resorts in southern Thailand where we are currently operating 15 properties,” Patrick Basset, AccorHotels’ chief operating officer for Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia told the website. “This joint partnership will offer guests added choice offerings and strengthens our position as the leading hotel operator of luxury and upscale resorts in the region.”

The resort is in Makham Bay along the beach of Phuket’s east coast where things tend to be quieter. There are a total of 211 rooms and villas, two swimming pools, a spa, four dining establishments, a fitness center and seven function rooms at the property which are likely to be retained by Pullman.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, the company operating Radisson, Radisson Blu and a few other brands, will continue to operate four other hotels in Thailand. These properties include the Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok, Radisson Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit, Park Plaza Sukhumvit Bangkok and Park Plaza Soi 18.
