It all comes down to this. More than 40 developers from eight ASEAN countries have been listed as part of the best the best honors at the 6th annual South East Asia Property Awards 2016. Finalists from around the region will be in Singapore to find out who leads the way in real estate this year.
Indonesia has 15 nominations, the most from any one country. Four of those were bestowed upon Best Developer (Indonesia) winner PT Intiland Development Tbk, whose developments include Serenia Hills and South Quartier. PT Putragaya Wahana, is also nominated in four categories.
MQDC Magnolia Quality Development Corporation, the Best Developer (Thailand) winner at the 11th Thailand Property Awards in September, will be looking to bring back four awards. The company’s riverfront project, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, is up for one Development and one Design award at the 2016 SEAPA. Another Chao Phraya-based project, AVANI Riverside Bangkok Hotel by three-time nominee Minor Hotels, has been shortlisted for three awards.
Thailand is tied in second place with the Philippines with a total 12 nominations each. Myanmar has ten nominations, followed by Vietnam with nine, Malaysia with eight, and Cambodia with four. Winners will also come from Singapore and those will be announced on 24th November.
The Philippines’ contingent is led by SM Prime Holdings, Inc, the commercial development arm of the SM Group, who was nominated in four categories, including two for Best Commercial Development (Philippines) winner SM Seaside City Mall Cebu, and another two for the Conrad Manila hotel.
More than 150 awards have been presented to the region’s leading real estate developers and developments this year from Phnom Penh to Jakarta and everywhere in-between. More than 2,500 guests, included top government officials, global experts, senior industry figures and royalty, have attended the South East Asia Property Awards series in 2016.
