Harbor Pattaya is set to open its doors this week and the complex’s Grand Opening will take place tomorrow (April 1st). Despite it being April Fools’ Day, the opening is no joke as the project’s developers hope the complex will be well received by the city.
The entire project cost THB2 billion to build and covers eight rai of land in the Pattaya city centre. The mega-shopping complex is located on Central Road and features a number of unique concepts, some of which are being introduced to Thailand for the very first time.
Entertainment facilities take centre stage at Harbor Pattaya as developers look to create a place for people of all ages to have fun. Their goal, according to the Pattaya Mail, was to create the biggest indoor playground in Asia. In order to do this the project will contain an amusement park for children with state of the art equipment, a trampoline park, a rock climbing wall along with an indoor ice rink. The biggest snow city in Thailand will be the project’s showpiece and is currently on track to open in October.
There will also be a learning and business centre, a food garden, parking space for over 1,000 cars and free Wi-Fi throughout the facility. A number of popular restaurants and coffee shops including MK and Starbucks will open branches at Pattaya Harbor as well. On the retail side of things, the mall will have a variety of shops including a number of fashion outlets plus an entire floor dedicated to IT products and services. There will also be a MaxValu supermarket on-site.
It is hoped that Harbor Pattaya has enough unique features to differentiate itself from Pattaya’s other malls and shopping destinations. Central Festival Pattaya Beach and Central City Pattaya are the two main competitors in the area but neither offers the scope of family entertainment facilities that will be found at Harbor Pattaya.
