CapitaLand’s Ascott brand is preparing to open its latest project in Thailand. Somerset Ekamai Bangkok will open its doors to guests for the very first time on 25th August, which will mark the completion of the project’s first phase. When the service residence opens it will become the 17th property under Ascott’s watch in Thailand.

The opening of the property was split into two phases with 81 units of pet-friendly apartments available for corporate lease as well as a multi-functional conference center being the first to open. The project’s second phase, which includes 130 units of serviced residences and 51 units of urban community rooms as well as facilities and a car-parking system, should be completed in November.

The project will be one of the first of its kind along Ekkamai, which has a few large office buildings as well as easy transport links to other areas in Bangkok. Somerset Ekamai Bangkok was designed to allow guests to enjoy the comfort and familiarity of their home while staying in Thailand.

The apartments feature a number of amenities and conveniences while the pet friendly units are a bit of a rarity to find and should help the project stand out. There are a number of common area facilities for guests to use including an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a garden area, restaurants, a children’s playroom and a lounge space for residents.

Somerset Ekamai Bangkok’s multi-functional conference center can host professional business conferences, trainings or private functions. There is a large auditorium along with several meeting and training rooms. The entire space is fitted with A/V equipment which should help appeal to those planning events.

This will be Ascott’s second project in the area with Somerset Thonglor Bangkok also being close by. The company operates more than 3,000 units in Thailand with properties located in Bangkok, Pattaya and Sri Racha.
