DDproperty.com announced the website has seen an 11 percent increase in page viewers during first seven months of this year. Despite economic struggles in Thailand, 23 million visitors checked out the website. Of these, 78 percent of the total viewers were searching for single homes and two-bedroom condominiums which highlights the fact that property developers are making the right move in launching new projects in this segment

Kamonpat Sawangkit, Country Manager – Thailand for DDproperty.com said in the first seven months of 2016 the website saw an 11 percent growth in terms of website visitors compared to the same period last year. This meant the website set a record number of visitors for the first seventh month of a year.

Despite the quiet property market, economy slowdown, oversupplied projects and lower investment yields, the findings show that 78 percent of the 23 million viewers are still interested in buying new properties while 22 percent are looking to rent.

Kamolpat added that among the 78 percent who are interested in buying, 27 percent of them are looking for single-detached homes, followed by condominiums, land and townhouses respectively. The percentage of those looking for two-bedroom property is 41 percent, followed by three-bedroom, one-bedroom, and four-bedroom homes or more. Bangkok has the highest search counts with Huay Kwang, Wattana, Chatuchak, Bang Na and Lad Prao among the most popular districts.

For searches outside Bangkok, Chonburi was the most searched location. The most popular districts in the province were Sriracha (31 percent), Muang (26 percent), and Banglamung (20 percent). The second most searched province was Chiang Mai with Muang (36 percent), San Sai (12 percent), Mae Rim (11 percent) and Sankampaeng (6.5percent) the most popular districts.

Among the 22 percent interested in renting, 28 percent searched for condominium units followed by single home and townhouse respectively. The most popular districts for renters were Wattana, Huay Kwang, and Klong Toey.

Kamolpat pointed out that many property developers are launching products that meet the real needs of consumers and information shows that single homes and two-bedroom condominium units are in great demand.
