Another company is gearing up for an expected influx of tourists to Phuket as Best Western unveiled plans to open its fourth resort on the island. The company announced via a press release that it has signed an agreement to operate the Best Western Premier Himalai Resort, which will be located in the Kamala area of Phuket.

The upscale resort will have a total of 425 rooms and suites. Each room will be equipped with a number of modern amenities including flat-screen TVs, universal power sockets, USB ports and complimentary Wi-Fi. The property will also boast an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and two restaurants plus a business center and meeting facilities.

“Best Western Premier Himalai Resort will be an exceptional upscale hotel in an idyllic setting, combining the very best of Thai hospitality with Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ world-famous international standards. I look forward to welcoming our first guests to this exciting new hotel in 2019,” Olivier Berrivin, Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ managing director of international operations – Asia, said in the press release. “Phuket continues to enchant the global travelers with its stunning sandy beaches and ever-expanding range of visitor attractions.”

The Kamala Beach location is situated near the Andaman Sea on Phuket’s popular West Coast. It will offer guests a change pace from the company’s other locations in Patong and Bangtao Beach. Berrivin pointed out that Kamala has a quieter, more relaxed ambience while also being just a short drive from a multitude of shopping malls, restaurants and vibrant nightlife venues.

At the moment Best Western operates nine hotels and resorts across Thailand. The company has five hotels in Bangkok found in popular tourist locations throughout the city and also operates one hotel in Buri Ram in addition to the three Phuket properties. It is unknown if Best Western has plans for additional expansion in Thailand at this time.
