Forbes named Bangkok as one of the world’s best places to work from home. In addition to this, Nomadlist.com ranked the Thai capital as the best city in the world to live and work remotely.
Low rents are among the reasons Bangkok is deemed to be such a great place to work remotely from. An upscale condominium unit or serviced residence in a prime Bangkok location is significantly cheaper than in many other cities. This is one of the most important considerations for remote workers.
Bangkok’s low cost of living also factor in the ranking as well as the city’s infamous nightlife and solid Wi-Fi connectivity. There is also a sizable expat community that helps create a positive environment for remote workers who come to the country from abroad.
Other cities to make the list were Hawaii’s famed island of Oahu and Burano in Italy. The reasons these locations were ranked so high had more to do about scenery than anything else. Both are situated in picturesque areas that help remote workers stay focused and relaxed.
Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, also made the list for more pragmatic reasons. While there is plenty of history and unique places, rents in the city are also quite inexpensive and the cost of living is low as well. Austin, Texas and Colmar, France rounded out the list.

With advancements in technology such as Slack and Trello now commonplace in many organizations, communications and workflows have been simplified giving employees the capability to work from anywhere.
