Waldorf Astoria To Open In Bangkok Next Year

One of the world’s most luxurious hotel brands will open in Bangkok next year with the currently under construction Waldorf Astoria Bangkok finally announcing its launch date. The new hotel is set to welcome its 1st guests in August of 2018, according to media reports.

The property is located on Ratchadamri Road and will be inside the Magnolias Ratchadamri, a 60 story mixed-use complex that will also have 316 residences. The project is situated next to the Grand Hyatt Erawan and has views that overlook the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.

The hotel will be the 1st Waldorf Astoria in Southeast Asia, reports Business Traveller Asia. It will have a total 171 rooms and suites with accommodation sizes starting at 50 sq. metres. Designer André Fu created the room interiors which all contain marble bathrooms with separate shower and bathtub areas. There is also a 2-bedroom Royal Suite that spans 300 sq. metres and is equipped with a kitchen and dining room.

Waldorf Astoria Bangkok will have a number of public spaces which are spread out over multiple floors. Among the facilities are an outdoor infinity swimming pool, a fitness centre, and spa. The hotel will have 2 floors dedicated to meeting space and 2 ballrooms for hosting events.

Several eateries will be found at the property. The choices include a French brasserie called Front Room and the Bull & Bear steakhouse which will be on the 55th floor. A couple of bars, The Loft and the reservation-only The Champagne Bar, will be located on the highest levels of the hotel

The new opening comes as the Waldorf Astoria looks to expand its brand in Asia. The company also plans to launch a resort in Bali as well as new hotels in Dubai and Doha. In the future, Waldorf Astoria hopes to announce new hotels in Jakarta, San Francisco, and the Maldives.
