Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group announced it has signed a deal to manage OZO Hoi An, a 364-room beachfront resort at New Hoi An City. Asia News Network added that the hotel will open sometime in 2016.
In addition to the hotel, there will be a retail complex, a dining and entertainment village, residential apartments, villas and recreational facilities as well as an all-day restaurant, a gym and other features to interest residents and guests alike.
“Vietnam is one of the region’s fastest growing travel destinations and we are excited to have OZO Hoi An as part of our continuing expansion plans,” ONYX CEO, Peter Henley, told Asia News Network. He added that the project will cost USD1.5 billion. The first phase will feature a hotel, over 200 apartments and retail space and should be open before the end of next year.
The Vietnam hotel will be OZO’s sixth project. The company currently operates resorts in Hong Kong, Pattaya, Koh Samui and two others in Sri Lanka.
There was also more news coming out of Vietnam as the countries most expensive hotel and serviced apartment complex officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City recently, Asia News Network reported. Located in the city’s Times Square Building, The Reverie Saigon Hotel and The Reverie Residence features a contemporary style with Italian design.
The residences will have 89 one- and two- bedroom units with full-service, extended-stay apartments. These will have their own separate entrance and private lounge from the main hotel, which will have 286 guestrooms ranging in size and style. The 39-storey building the hotel is located in has views of the city plus the nearby Saigon River.
All of the rooms at The Reverie are furnished by Italian interior design companies including Colombostile, Baldi Home Art, VG New Trend, B&B Italia, Visionaire, Giorgetti, Poltrona Frau, Cassina and Venini, Asia News Network added.
