InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced that it has signed a management agreement with Origin Property to develop Holiday Inn & Suites Siracha Laemchabang. The property is scheduled to open some time in 2018 and will be Holiday Inn’s first property in the town of Si Racha.

There will be a total of 300 rooms and long-stay suites, IHG revealed in a press release. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development that Origin Property is building. In addition to the hotel, there will be residential towers and a retail mall designed to serve business travelers. The region is home to several industrial complexes and a number of expatriates live and work in Si Racha.

“Si Racha presents an ideal opportunity to expand our hospitality portfolio. We are pleased to partner with IHG to develop our first hotel and have decided to brand it a Holiday Inn as it is one of the most recognised hotel brands in the world,” Peerapong Jaroon-ek, chief executive officer of Origin Property, stated in the press release. “With the brand’s heritage, together with IHG’s experience in operating great hotels and our proven expertise in real estate investment, we are confidence that the hotel will be well-received when it opens its doors in 2018.”

Holiday Inn & Suites Siracha Laemchabang will provide guests with easy access to nearby commercial and retail districts, hospitals, banks and international schools. The hotel will have a pool, fitness center, lobby lounge, meeting room space and on-site restaurants.

“Over the years, Si Racha has developed into a leading industrial estate and economic zone in Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard,” Leanne Harwood, IHG vice president, operations, South East Asia and Korea, said. “Its close proximity to two of the busiest container ports in South East Asia, Laem Chabang Port and Si Racha Harbor, has drawn an influx of expatriates and business travelers to the district and we see a huge potential for an internationally-branded hotel in the area.”
