Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre will host four unique events for homebuyers between 20th-23rd August. Nine financial institutions will offer buyers special deals on 300 residential projects in Thailand and non-performing assets worth more than THB100 billion.
Buyers will receive discounts on prices and special interest rates for mortgages on both new and resale homes, the latter being non-performing assets up for sale by commercial banks.
According to Kitti Patpongpibul, president of the Housing Finance Association, this is a buyers market as property firms try to shore up sales and commercial banks try to secure more mortgages in the second half of the year.
“NPA & Resale Home”, “Home Loan & Consumer Credit”, “Home Buyers’ Expo” and “Home Builder Expo” are the events to be hosted at the convention centre. The Housing Finance Association and the Home Builders Association are two of the groups helping organize the events.
Detached houses, townhouses and condominiums will be among the types of property offered to buyers at the events. There will also be financial institutions on-hand to provide special mortgage and personal-loan deals for people who buy at the event.
Lalin Property director Churat Chakarakul told The Nation that the company planned to hold a special promotional campaign at the Home Buyers’ Expo to boost its presales this quarter. “We target sales of up to THB100 million from the four-day event,” he stated.
Tararom Enterprise is another company who hopes the events can boast sales. The company will offer discounts of up to THB1 million to buyers of its Naber Home Watcharapol detached houses that start at THB5.39 million. Buyers can get a free swimming pool for its detached-housing project Parkway A-Liv Ramkhamhaeng 190/1, which offers prices of THB7.5 million, the company’s president Wasan Kiangsiri said. He also noted the company was targeting THB100 million in sales for the event.
