“We’ll be back” was the emphatic claim made by U.K. student accommodation developer Vita Student after its first venture to Bangkok recently.
Vita Student’s Head of Business Development Asia Pacific Justin Humphreys (pictured at the event), told DDproperty.com: “The reason we decided to exhibit in Bangkok was because we previously experienced great success in Singapore and Hong Kong, and we identified the opportunity to broaden our scope to other active regions of Southeast Asia.”
His company held an exclusive event in association with real estate agency Savills Thailand at Four Seasons Hotel in Bangkok earlier this month.
Humphreys said: “We were confident before the show, and the high number of attendees and the completion of several sales demonstrated that our instincts about the appetite for student property in the area were spot-on.”
U.K. student accommodation investments have been popular sellers to Thais and expatriates in Bangkok this year, with at least four exhibitions taking place in the Thai capital.
Humphreys added: “What was even more encouraging was that local buyers engaged really well with the Vita Student brand proposition, and the vast majority realised that the provider brings something truly different to the market.
“We’ll certainly be exhibiting in Thailand again and will also be looking to replicate the same success in other key markets in the region.
“We will be sure to keep local investors up to date with the state of the U.K. student property market and future opportunities to invest with Vita Student.”
