Grand Canal Land will launch a new residential project and also announced additional plans for its Grand Rama 9 project. The news comes as the developer along with partner BTS Group Holdings finalises plans to purchase a 38-rai plot of land on Phahon Yothin Road along the skytrain extension from Mor Chit to Saphan Mai.

“We haven’t planned what to do with the plot as we need to discuss with our partner BTS,” said chairman and chief executive Yotin Boondicharern. “We may develop a mixed-use project or sell it in smaller pieces as the plot is located on both Phahon Yothin and Vibhavadi Rangsit roads.”

According to The Bangkok Post, Grand Canal Land is preparing its first residential launch in five years with the Belle Sky condominium project located on the outskirts of Bangkok. The development is situated near Miracle Grand Hotel on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in the Don Muang District. The development will feature ten 15-storey buildings and the first phase of the project will be launched some time in early 2016.

The developer’s Grand Rama 9, the massive mixed-use project at the Rama IX-Ratchadaphisek intersection, will see the G Towers office building open in April. The project has a 20 percent occupancy rate and the company is hoping to reach 40 percent before opening next year. The 9th Towers condominium as well as The Shoppes Grand Rama 9 and Central Plaza Grand Rama 9 have already been completed by Grand Canal Land as part of the project.

Other planned developments for the plot of land including Super Tower, which will be the tallest building in Thailand at 615 metres when finally opened, and New World Grand Rama 9 Bangkok Hotel which will feature 275 rooms.
