Sansiri and BTS Group are set to unveil their fifth joint-venture condominium project, The Base Garden-Rama 9, to investors in Hong Kong. This will kick off a roadshow that will also stop in Singapore and China as the developer looks to secure pre-sales.

“We are delighted to introduce yet another potential series brand to Hong Kong customers who are looking for investment residences with strong rental yields in return,” said Uthai Uthaisangsuk, Sansiri’s senior executive vice president for business development and high-rise project development. “And we expect that The Base Garden-Rama 9 will receive great feedback from foreigners as we do in Thailand.”

The Base Garden-Rama 9, which will not be launched in Thailand until after the roadshow, is the latest project under ‘The Base’ brand developed by the mass transit operator and one of Thailand’s leading developers. The brand’s early projects have been successful with residents enjoying features designed for modern lifestyles along with affordable pricing and locations that are close to public transportation.

Asia Bankers Club’s chief executive, Kingston Lai, told the newspaper that the past joint developments of BTS and Sansiri were rather popular with Hong Kong investors. His company believes The Base Garden-Rama 9 is likely to be warmly greeted by buyers in Hong Kong this time around as well.

Lai also noted that Southeast Asia has seen a sudden surge in overseas investment with Thailand being one of the most popular destinations. One of the reasons for that is several high-speed-railway construction projects are currently being built that will improve the country’s infrastructure.

Terence Chan, director of Golden Emperor Properties has similarly bullish expectations for The Base Garden-Rama 9 pointing out that there should be substantial interest from professionals working in the area once the project is completed. This makes it good for both short- and long-term investment.
