Jennifer Lopez has made millions during her music and acting career, but the star will earn less than she expected for her Los Angeles mansion that was recently sold. The massive house had an asking price of USD 17 million, but the actress accepted an offer of nearly half of that, according to US media reports.
Lopez agreed to sell the mansion for USD 10 million that was co-listed with Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland the property and Marc and Rory Shevin of Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices California Properties. She purchased the house for USD 8.2 million in 2010, records found by the Los Angeles Times show. She then proceeded to renovate the entire property in order for it to better suit her needs.
The mansion is located on a 3-acre compound in Hidden Hills, California, an exclusive community in the outskirts of Los Angeles. There is a massive, traditional-style house that has a total of 17,129 sq. feet of living space. The 2-story home was built in 1987 as part of the gated community.
The house contains both formal and informal living rooms, a wood-panelled office, and a master suite with a sitting room and a private terrace, reports the Los Angeles Times. There is also a formal dining room with seating for 12 people and a separate entertainment/work area.
This space has both dance and recording studios, a necessity for the award winning Lopez who has starred in numerous movies including Selena and Maid in Manhattan in addition to releasing several albums. The area also boasted a 20-seat theatre, a game room, and a bar. The grounds were equipped with a resort-style swimming pool, a play area, and a lounge as well as manicured greenery. The mansion was capped off with a parking garage that has space for 8 cars and a motor court that could hold another 15 vehicles.
