New Best Western Brand Hits Bangkok

SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Sukhumvit 2 opened in early October as the hotel chain introduced another one of its offshoots to Thailand, according to a company press release. The property is located in the Nana district of Bangkok and has a total of 85 rooms.

“We believe the hotel will redefine the premium economy sector. Bangkok has a long history of providing affordable accommodation. By combining the ease and affordability of economy hotels with the international standards of a global chain, SureStay Hotel Group is sure to appeal to business and leisure travellers alike,” says Olivier Berrivin, Best Western’s Managing Director of International Operations for Asia, in a press release.

The 1st property under the SureStay Hotel Group brand opened last year as Best Western Hotels & Resorts wanted to enter the economy and lower to mid-scale sectors where business has remained steady. For hotel owners, they have the opportunity to utilise Best Western’s global network to help with sales, distribution, technology, and support.

Most of the SureStay Hotels have opened in the USA and Canada and the brand is a little more than 1 year old. The company wants to build a global portfolio of 100 hotels, counting both operating or under development properties, by the end of the year. This would make it one of the fastest-growing brands in the hotel sector.

The newest hotel launch sees Best Western Hotels & Resorts continue its expansion in Bangkok. The brand already operates 4 properties in Thai capital under the Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier brand and also has several new properties under development. These include hotels under Best Western hotels and Best Western Premier brands as well as Thailand’s first ever Vib hotel.

“We are seeing rising demand for branded economy and lower to mid-scale accommodation in key cities across Asia-Pacific. SureStay Hotel Group is perfectly positioned to fill this gap in the market and we look forward to introducing this exciting new concept to more cities across the region in the coming months and years,” says Berrivin.
