Sri Panwa Eyes Tourists From USA and China

High-end resort Sri Panwa Phuket is focusing on attracting more Chinese and American tourists this year. The property is operated by Sri Panwa Management Co and is targeting an increase of 20 per cent from Chinese visitors and 10 per cent from American guests, local media reports.

The volume of Chinese and American guests coming to the resort is growing continuously, says Managing Director Vorasit Issara. The company has also used social media to bring more luxury travellers to its property.

“Chinese and American tourists are projected to generate the most profit for our resort,” tells Vorasit to the Bangkok Post. “I believe the Thai tourism outlook will be lively this year as the country is more than ready to welcome all groups of tourists, not only luxury tourists.”

Sri Panwa expects the influx of high-income tourists from America and China to help it generate more than THB 700 million this year. This would be a 7.6 per cent increase from last year’s revenue. Of the guests staying at Sri Panwa, 25 per cent are Chinese, 24 per cent are Thai, 10 per cent are American, 10 per cent European and the rest come from other countries.

“The increasing flow of executives from Europe and America to Asian countries will benefit us a lot, making the high-end hotel segment have robust growth,” says Vorasit.

While economies worldwide may be slowing, the luxury accommodation segment has not been affected with more high-end Chinese, Thai and American tourists coming to Sri Panwa and other similar luxury properties in Thailand.

Sri Panwa has 38 pool villas along with 7 pool suites at its Sri Panwa resort in Phuket. The hotel company is also considering investing in luxury hotel projects in Phetchaburi’s Cha-am district and Phangnga province this year, but those plans are not finalised.
