London Project To Be Displayed In Bangkok This Weekend

17 Mar 2017

A London development will be looking to entice Thai buyers at an exclusive show in Bangkok on Friday and Saturday. Berkeley Homes, a respected UK developer, will be introducing its West End Gate project in association with JLL. The development is located in the popular Paddington area of London and prices for apartments start at GBP 905,000.

“Following the UK’s vote to leave the European Union in June last year, the British Pound has fallen by almost 20 per cent against the Thai Baht, making it cheaper for Thais to purchase properties in the UK. As a result, more Thais are now actively looking for an opportunity to invest in UK real estate and in the London condominium market in particular,” says Maarten Prins, Head of International Residential Property Services at JLL Thailand.

Architects Squire & Partners designed West End Gate for Berkeley Homes. The first limited release of apartments in the 30-storey Westmark tower are a collection of Manhattan-style suites. There are 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments are available with many units featuring balconies. The tower is the tallest building at West End Gate development and residents will be able to take advantage of views across London.

“Buyers who purchase a unit at West End Gate and put it up for rent can expect investment yields ranging between 3-4 per cent per annum. However, most buyers put a greater focus on a potential capital gain in the long term as residential prices in London are likely to continue to rise due to strong demand for and a structural undersupply of new homes. This huge gap between demand and supply is likely to persist for at least another 5 years,” says Mr. Prins.

The project is a 1-minute walk from Edgware Road station which is served by numerous public transportation lines. Paddington Station is also a short walk away where it is easy to get to locations outside of London, Heathrow Airport, London’s largest airport, can be reached in 24 minutes.
