Thailand’s private villa market is not always under the spotlight, but posh private residences on islands like Phuket and Koh Samui, are becoming popular with buyers.
Wayne Hue, Director of Sales and Marketing for Luxury Villas and Homes, said, “The scope and personalised comforts offered by these often invisible beach and hillside estates appeal to families, groups of friends and even global celebrities in search of a little tropical privacy.”
“They are surrounded by nature but with all the luxury accoutrements they have become accustomed to.”
For instance, Villa Kalyana, an opulent private villa located at Koh Samui recently made available as a holiday rental, can accommodate up to 18 adults and five children within its 10 beachfront and sea-view bedrooms. Aside from scenic ocean views, the private villa also enjoys a list of amenities including internet TVs and iPad docking stations.
At the heart of the villa is a 300sq m chemical-free pool surrounded by wood and marble pool decks with furnished sun beds and loungers. Additionally, there’s a private cinema room with large LED screen, barbecue terrace with an original Weber Grill, air-conditioned spa room and sauna as well as a games/conference room with billiard table.
“Properties like Villa Kalyana are also becoming increasingly popular as wedding and event venues,” noted Hue.
“Couples and their guests could easily host an intimate private ceremony in the villa’s open-air covered living space, which has a 12-metre high, pyramid shaped shingle roof, then gather for the wedding dinner in the 90 sqm dining space. The grounds are also large enough for bigger events and the undisturbed beachfront location feels like a film set.”
With getaways like Villa Kalyana, more villa owners are now optimistic that they will yield good rental income from their property investments. On the other hand, these villas also provide a retreat for guests.
