According to media reports Indian billionaire Ashok Jaipuria has purchased a luxury residence unit at Phuket’s Malaiwana real estate development.
Jaipura cited his liking for the scenery on the popular Thai holiday island as one of the reasons for the purchase of the property, according to the Phuket news website PhuketWan and Thai newspaper Thai Rath.
The award-winning property comprises 12 Residences and 19 Villas, and picked up the ‘Best Villa Phuket’ title at the 2011 Thailand Property Awards, as well as the prestigioius ‘Best Villa Thailand’ at the South East Asia Property Awards in the same year.
Jaipura, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cosmo Films Ltd, told reporters: "We have a property at Nai Thon beach. That’s a very nice area. I was looking in Thailand for property and we looked at Samui and we looked at Krabi and we looked at other places and we thought that Phuket was a better option so we bought a property on Phuket.
"Phuket has a lot of activities, it has bays, it has marinas, it has golf. You have mountains. I am fond of organics. I go and stay at the farm sometimes, which is very nice."
