Bangkok’s top best-selling residential property locations, along with the best-selling price sector, have been revealed in a new survey by the Agency for Real Estate Affairs (AREA).
Top of the list of Bangkok’s best-selling locations during 2013 was Pathumwan district, ironically the hub of the recent anti-government protests in the centre of the Thai capital. Condominiums priced between THB3 million and THB5 million were the best performing, and AREA reported that 365 units were launched with 314 selling – a sales rate of 63.6 percent.
Seven of the Top 20 best-selling property developments in Bangkok in 2013 were located in Pathumwan, Sukhumvit Road and Silom, while five were located in close proximity to skytrain stations, according to AREA.
The second best-selling location in Bangkok was the Vibhavadi Road-Ratchadaphisek Road area, where some 688 condominiums priced between THB2 million and THB3 million were sold.
Third on the list of Bangkok’s best-selling property locations was Bang Bua Thong. Condominiums priced between THB1 million and THB2 million were the most popular here, with just 115 of the 1,151 launched units remaining for sale.
The fourth most-popular location was the Rattanathibeth/Tha It area in the suburbs of the city where condominiums priced between THB2 million and THB3 million sold well.
Condominiums in the higher THB5 million to THB10 million price bracket in Pathumwan were reported by AREA as being the fifth most-popular location and unit type.
