DDproperty.com, Thailand’s number one property website, is planning a series of overseas exhibitions and expanding its operations outside Bangkok, with the goal of doubling its revenue during 2014.
Head of Marketing Napong Panthong revealed plans for seven overseas Thailand property exhibitions in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta during the coming 12 months.
He said: "Singaporeans and Malaysians are potential buyers of Thailand property. We plan to introduce at least eight projects per exhibition to them.”
DDproperty.com, which is part of the PropertyGuru Group, has already held a number of successful overseas exhibitions in Singapore. Two Thailand property showcase events in 2013 resulted in more than THB300 million in Singapore sales for exhibitors.
Napong also noted that Singaporeans form the largest proportion of overseas visitors to the portal. When searching for a property for their own use the most Thailand popular search was for a condominium in the THB2 million to THB3 million price range, while those searching for investment property were looking in the THB20 million – THB30 million range.
"Singaporeans see a yield from a THB 3 million unit as very minimal," he said, adding that yields in the city-state can be as low as 3 percent while those in Thailand can be between 5 percent up to 8 percent.
