Construction of the THB6 billion AIA Capital Center on Ratchapisek Road in Bangkok remains on track, and developers AIA Group have appointed acclaimed architectural firm the Beaumont Partnership to create the newest landmark in the heart of Bangkok’s upcoming financial district.
Anucha Laokwansatit, General Manager and Chief Investment Officer of AIA Thailand said: “AIA Capital Center is an innovative office tower project never seen before in Thailand. AIA Group has invested more than THB6 billion developing this premium office complex, Ratchadapisek Road’s first eco-tower. It will also be a new and outstanding landmark featuring three meter high ceilings, the highest ceiling of all Grade ‘A’ commercial buildings in Thailand. With its modern design and internationally recognised cutting edge energy technology, tenants can save time and minimise overhead.”
AIA Capital Center is one of AIA Group’s two large-scale office and retail complexes in Bangkok’s prime areas. Situated on the spacious plot of land of nearly 10 rai, the 34 storey office tower offers 54,000 sqm of Grade ‘A’ office space for rent, nearly 5,000 sqm of retail space and parking space for more than 800 cars.
The retail complex will include a complete range of amenities with banks, restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores and a fitness centre. Located next to the new Stock Exchange of Thailand, AIA Capital Center is convenient for those who commute by car due to its proximity to the highway, as well as those who take mass-transit systems being 50 meters from the Thailand Cultural Center MRT and 1.8 km from the Airport Link station.
Anucha added: “To achieve our vision, AIA was looking for an architectural firm that best demonstrated its capability to handle the design brief and, more importantly, clearly understood and saw what AIA envisions. The Beaumont Partnership was selected due to the ability of its young architects, whose portfolio comprises numerous international projects, to flawlessly answer each and every demand.”
Royy Cheenprachar, Joint Country Manager and Partner of The Beaumont Partnership, said: “AIA Capital Center’s design vision and thinking of a ‘green’ building incorporates environmental and energy efficient technology systems in the building design and construction.”
He added that with outstanding points at global environmental standards, AIA Capital Center’s design is pre-certified a Gold level of LEED (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
“This guarantees that the design improves and complements environmental needs in the area and contributes to a better quality of life,” he added.
AIA Capital Center is set to launch in mid-2014. The project’s official and sole agent is CBRE Thailand who is now accepting enquiries for office and retail space.
