Buyers snap up UK investments

7 May 2014

EXCLUSIVE: Bangkok property buyers and investors were out in force last weekend, closing deals on more than 20 units of overseas property investments at an event in Bangkok.

The showcase was arranged by Thailand real estate agency CapitalOne in association with Singapore real estate firm Trillion Property. On offer was an IIbis hotel investment opportunity in Manchester alongside luxury student apartments in Sheffield.

Investments are claimed to offer up to 10 percent assured rental returns for three years and a 125 percent buyback of purchasers’ price in the fourth year.

Chop Lin, Business Development Manager for Singapore-based Trillion Property Pte Ltd, told DDproperty.com: "We’re delighted that we closed more than 20 units, pending final figures being concluded, and we expect more deals shortly with a number of potential buyers following up.

"Considering this was our first venture in a Bangkok hotel environment the response was pretty encouraging. There is a good chance we will be visiting Thailand again with more projects from the United Kingdom and Australia in the coming months."

The spokesperson added that guests at the event comprises a good mix of expatriates residing in Bangkok as well as Thais who have either studied in U.K., or have family members residing there.

So far this year close to 100 individual student overseas property investments have reported to have been sold to buyers in Bangkok at more than five individual property exhibitions in Bangkok.
