Vita targets Thailand buyers

Kanchana Paha14 Aug 2014

Leading student accommodation provider Vita Student is exhibiting its latest British residential investment opportunities for the first time in Bangkok this weekend.

The move has been prompted by an increasing number of proactive enquiries from the region, and follows the success of other providers of similar accommodation selling to Thai buyers and investors this year.

The exhibition will give local investors the opportunity to purchase premium accommodation in the flourishing student buy-to-let market in the U.K.

The event, being held in conjunction with Savills, will happen at the Four Seasons Hotel on August 16 and August 17 between 11am and 7pm. 16th–17th August.

Prices start from £82,000 and investors will receive an assured net yield of 35 percent over five years, with the properties also expected to increase in value by 5-6 percent each year, according to the developer.

Some 70 percent of the new Vita Student residents are from overseas, predominantly Southeast Asia and Europe. One such tenant is 23-year-old Vanitha Nagarajah from Malaysia who has lived at Vita Student’s residence in Liverpool called The Chapel for the past year.

Of her time at The Chapel she told DDproperty.com: “The past year has been a great experience and definitely worth the money I have paid to live here. The staff have been warm, helpful and welcoming at all times which has really made a difference to how at home I have felt.

“The main reasons I re-booked for the upcoming year are that I believe the studios are very good value for money and the residence is in a perfect central location, conveniently close to everything in the city.”

Vita Student’s Head of Business Development Asia Pacific. Justin Humphreys, said: “While other accommodation providers can build luxury living quarters, Vita Student has evolved the purpose-built accommodation concept and risen above the general market by putting students at the heart of everything it does.

“By pinpointing students’ needs, Vita Student has created a concept that will be sought after by students for years to come.

“As an investor, there is nothing more important to a successful property investment than high tenancy rates and it is this element that Vita Student has proven it can deliver.

“Over the next few years it will be demonstrated once and for all that the highest and most consistent rental returns will be generated by brands like Vita Student.”
