Central Group has decided to rebrand its Central Festival developments from being holiday oriented shopping centers in tourist destinations to lifestyle shopping centers in urban areas. CentralFestival EastVille on Praditmanutham Road will be the first project with the new theme and is scheduled to open on 27th November.

The world-famous lifestyle districts including the Meatpacking district in New York, Covent Garden in London and Omotesando in Tokyo served as the inspiration for CentralFestival EastVille. The mall will have indoor and outdoor areas with green spaces and large trees inside the complex to give it a natural ambiance.

Central hopes the theme will encourage people from many different lifestyles to share the urban space and enjoy a shopping complex with creative art and design surrounded by beautiful architecture that uses distinctive colors as well as greenery.

There will be more than 300 tenants at the mall including Thai and international brands. Several of the brands will feature new concept stores instead of traditional retail outlets. The mall will also feature a bicycle lane and a Sky Run that will be the first of its kind in Thailand. A world-class fitness club that caters to families will also be hosted at CentralFestival EastVille.

“We believe CentralFestival EastVille will be the very first shopping center designed to fulfill all the needs of people with a modern city lifestyle,” said Wallaya Chirathivat, senior executive vice-president for business development, design and construction.

CentralFestival EastVille is the first project to be completed under the revamped Central Festival brand. The developer is looking to use design elements and features from the new branch during renovations at the other Central Festival projects in Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Hat Yai, Wallaya added.

The idea behind the new Central Festival format is to help connect with customers through modern design works, Wallaya noted. “This new design concept won’t be limited to main tourist destinations but will also be developed in Bangkok and other provinces that have a metropolitan lifestyle,” she stated.
