Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts opens new serviced apartment property on Ekkamai launched last week. The Mövenpick Residences Ekkamai Bangkok becomes the brand’s second property in the Thai capital as the hospitality company takes over from local hotel operator D Varee.
The property contains 158 serviced apartments and caters to long-stay guests. There are fully furnished studios plus 1- and 2-bedroom apartments at the project that is situated near the end of Ekkamai, a street known for trendy eateries and cafes. Each unit has contemporary décor and a choice of city views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Units at the property are fully fitted and have all necessary kitchen equipment to cook meals. The residences also have flat screen TVs showing numerous cable channels and free wireless Internet. The building was developed by Nusasiri and is the first partnership between the 2 companies. The Mövenpick Residences Ekkamai Bangkok will be the Swiss hotel brand’s flagship for its contemporary serviced apartment concept in Asia.
“We are delighted to partner with such a well-established name in Thai real estate as we extend Mövenpick’s reach beyond hotels and resorts into the fast growing serviced apartment sector. The high quality of finishing and variety of spacious layouts, combined with our Swiss attention to detail is sure to make Mövenpick Residences Ekkamai Bangkok a high-demand option in an area that’s already popular with long-term expatriates,” says Andrew Langdon, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Global Chief Development Officer, in a press release.
In terms of common area facilities, the property has a 25-metre outdoor saltwater swimming pool plus an indoor rooftop fitness centre and conference and meeting room space. Mövenpick Residences Ekkamai Bangkok offers a shuttle service that drops guests at the Ekkamai BTS station. There is also an on-site restaurant that offers numerous dishes and different cuisines throughout the day.
