Haven’t Met Silom opened in Bangkok recently hoping to attract millennial travellers with its unique, technology-focus brand. The 9-storey property has a total of 70 rooms and saw developer Sincere Capital Land invest over THB100 million. The company estimates that the hotel will break even in 5 years.
“We invested THB120 million in this new project to target millennial travellers from Asia and around the world. Thailand has a lot of new hotels launching, but not many of them target the real needs of millennial travellers. As a new Thai brand we aim to offer affordable, experience- led stays. Our target occupancy is 80% in the 1st year and we expect this to reach 90% in the 2nd year,” says Chayaphon Hunrungroj, Chairman of Sincere Capital Land, in a press release.
In order to attract younger travellers, the hotel will offer guests use of a complimentary 4G connected, interactive in-room smart tablet. These will be pre-loaded with a custom hotel app and also have a dedicated chat room for guests to meet up in, chat with each other, and plan activities.
“Today’s young, affluent travellers are looking for practical comfort in a convenient location. They need a base to explore the city and they want to know the best things to see, to do, and what’s new. They also want to share their travel experience with their social network and make new friends,” says Patrick Pratummanee, Sincere Capital Land Executive Director.
The hotel will also offer “Haven’t Met Experiences” which can be reserved using the tablet. The experiences include sampling local street food, visiting a pop-up market, exploring malls, Muay Thai boxing training, and heading to rooftop bars.
“In a city as varied as Bangkok the key to a memorable stay is being able to choose the experiences you will enjoy the most. Exploring local and international attractions, discovering the history, and traditions of the city, or diving into contemporary culture. That is what travel is all about. Haven’t Met Silom introduces the many faces of Bangkok,” says Pratummanee.
